Chinese EV Brand Li Auto Sees First-Quarter Deliveries Surge :- Only 18,230 cars were delivered by Xpeng in the first quarter, a 47% decrease from the same period last year.

BEIJING— According to press releases from the firm, Li Auto, a Chinese electric car manufacturer, delivered more vehicles in March than Xpeng did in the first three months.

Li Auto delivered 20,823 vehicles in March, bringing the year’s first three months’ total of deliveries to 52,584. From the first quarter of 2022, that is an increase of almost 66%.

In comparison, Xpeng only shipped 18,230 vehicles in the first quarter, a 47% decrease from the same time last year.

In March, Xpeng delivered 7,002 automobiles, exceeding the first quarter’s monthly average. The company’s new P7i sports sedan, which went on sale in March, made up over half of the deliveries made last month.

Deliveries in the first quarter increased by 20.5% to 31,041 according to Nio. In March, the company delivered 10,378 automobiles.

Li Auto’s vehicles

Each of Li Auto’s vehicles, which are all SUVs, includes a fuel tank to recharge the battery and increase the range.

In a press release, the business asserted that it currently controls approximately 20% of the Chinese market for SUVs priced between 400,000 and 300,000 yuan ($43,674).

For reference, the Model Y mid-size SUV from Tesla sells for between 261,900 and 361,900 yuan.

The G9 SUV from Xpeng is priced at 309,900 yuan. The new P7i sedan from the manufacturer has a starting price of 249,900 Yuan and a price of 269,900 Yuan for drivers who want to use Xpeng’s assisted city driving technology. China doesn’t have access to Full Self Driving, a Tesla product.

But as of right now, only Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Shanghai have access to Xpeng’s assisted driving technology for cities, with the rollout starting on Friday.
